Thank you Anwynn, by the way. Do you use Steam? They have a sale on RPG Maker stuff there. I'm not sure which is good for your version. I have tried MV this week. It's very similar, but I do wish they made better assets in the newer style. It'll meen I would have to buy some DLC too when I buy it >.<
well i have a steam account made some years ago but i cannot buy anything on steam ...it's difficult to explain.
at first i wanted to buy my rpgmaker mz on steam but i couldn't so i bought it at degica shop instead. what do you think of MV while trying? they probably made it that way to push people into buying more ..i think? buying the maker is already expensive so yeah buying more DLC along is difficult :( there some interesting DLC but i do not think i'll buy any of them. VX Ace /MV /MZ have different things it make the choice difficult between choosing one of them
The engines very similar, but the newer engines have much better screen resolution. Mine looks really blocky, VX Ace was only meant for a tiny window mode. I don't understand the plug in feature with MV. I tried some which didn't seem to work. The battle sprites are amazing. With VX Ace I have to make all the battle sprites, but you can do them right there through character maker with MV and MZ. Makes that job so much easier, and the sprites have all the animations too. The engines really a great improvement of VX Ace but non of my sprite sheets will work and I'll need to convert 1000's of pictures and sprites to use them. It would take some serious time to convert it all over.
yes i noticed too that plugin does not always work in MZ either , i'm not sure why. can't really complain with free plugin but still..i would not want to buy a plugin and not being able to use it that for sure.
yes when creating a character all the animations come along it's really good , and can change the face between smiling ,crying ,being angry and such :)
that's a lot of pictures and sprites to convert if you choose to use MV :(
