The next update for Journey Galaxis will be available in December. I'm really nervous about this update as it will feature some really big changes to the game. One of the most noticable changes will be no AI battlebacks. The new battlebacks in Journey Galaxis will be original creations and have a 3-D depth to them and I have used Photoshop to try and match the style of Journey Galaxis to the artwork.

All the AI battlebacks that are in the current version will be replaced. I can promise 100% what you will see from the next sets of battlebacks used no AI at all. These are original works of digital art. In doing this I have created a god awful amount of work as all the enemy placements of which there are over 100 need to be re-adjusted. The new battlebacks look amazing and really fit in with the world locations as much as possible.

Hard Mode:

Journey Galaxis is really easy to get in to and play, and was made for a casual audience. Some people like a challenge, and I understand that Journey Galaxis gives lots of supporting items, healing after battle, no real consequence for losing. It's pretty chill and perhaps does not bode well for those who need something tough.

Hard Mode will change all of that and will give you exactly what you expect. For those who choose this option their game will permanently be locked in to this state. For example,  there are consequences for losing battles, and if your team members die... well... no, they won't die forever! You'll need to manually revive them. Losing battles will not bode well for the party as each member will lose experience points, and your Gold isn't safe, you'll lose some of that too for losing or escaping!

Many other aspects of the game will become far less forgiving as even the chests will give far less items compared to the default mode. Medic Houses will no longer cater to your health and give a free rest area. You'll have to visit an Inn, or use your items to keep your party at it's peak. You've always got the option of setting up your tent and camping if non of the above are an option.

Hard Mode will make Journey Galaxis feel more gritty, and I'm doing my best to make sure it'll stand up to the title! I certainly don't enjoy giving you a tough challenge, so play casual and you'll feel far less frustrated. However, if you do decide to go Hard, it'll be one heck of a tough cookie!

Enhance Mode

This new option will allow twice the speed of loading between maps as well as transitions to battle made even quicker. This option can be enabled or disabled and you'll notice a huge difference in the game speed. I have really enjoyed adding this in as part of the next update and will keep trying to enhance the game so it feels as good as possible!

Inventory 2.0

There is currently a limit of 20 items for any given item and I understand that may not feel like enough, especially for those who will play the game in Hard mode. Unfortunatly, if you want to increase the Inventory space, you'll need to do some work. Increasing the limit to your inventory will be a new feature in the next update. 

It took many years to get this point and I am glad that I didn't give up on the project especially at times when I felt like I created a failed game. Journey Galaxis is quite hidden compared to many big RPG Maker built games out there. I hope one day that can change. It's not "Another  RPG Maker game..." It's a game made with RPG Maker with great passion showing the capabilities of the engine with hard work and great effort.
